Summer is finally here and Geography teacher Sara Larson has exactly one month to find the perfect date for the wedding of a high school rival. The odds seem stacked against her, but the last thing she wants is to sit at the kids’ table again. Or even worse, the singles’ table. While trudging through an assortment of certified losers, Sara fights her attraction towards Ian, the irresistible guy next door.
Art teacher Ian McBride has a dream of opening his own gallery, but for now he’s focused on sculpting a gift for his grandparents’ fiftieth anniversary and enjoying a relaxing summer. However, Ian is blind-sided when crazy, beautiful Sara and her giant dog move in next door and rock his world. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him.
How can Sara avoid the attraction that sizzles between them and stick to her rule of not dating neighbors? As far as Ian’s concerned, the prince Sara is looking for is right under her nose. And one kiss just might change everything.
KISSING FROGS is a fun, fast-paced romantic comedy guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Let the fun begin!
Happy Sunday! What better way to celebrate than to learn what it is like to Kiss a frog or two! This is another first read for me and I love discovering new books to read!
✮ My Review ✮
From the opening pages, I was chuckling away and was swept away in the story of Sara and Ian. Amooi never fails to disappoint in his stories, he will make me smile, laugh out loud (and a lot) and make my eyes leak. His books really do fill me with so much joy and I love how true love runs in his books.
So much happens in Kissing Frogs yet it was over way too quickly. I felt like I have opened the book and the next thing it was over! I mean how dare it. This is how easy it is to fall in love with Amooi’s writing and characters. Whenever I read one of his books I am instantly cheered up, they get me out of a funk and they make me believe again in love and happiness (bit deep there!).
It is a classic tale of misconceptions and a lot of crazy dates! Could 1 girl have the worse luck on her dates? But all the while she is crazy about her neighbour but her past is preventing her from making a go of it. Plus why is Ian always out with a different girl, a different younger girl, this could only mean trouble.
One thing you can’t deny despite all the things that could be keeping them apart is their chemistry. It is electric! Plus their banter had me chuckling to myself. I kinda guessed how the story would end, but I don’t care, Amooi makes me care about the characters and I just sat there smiling. The one thing I know is once I have finished one of his books, I know the characters are safe and happy and most importantly in love!
As always Amooi hits the nail on the head from the woman’s point of view, but in this book, we get the man’s point of view too. The chapters flit between Sara and Ian, same situation but we flit into their heads as if we are the ones living the situation as them.
One of my favourite characters in this book…Kili….you need to read the book to find out why!
It is definitely another cute love story from Amooi and one to enjoy with a glass of wine (or tea) sit back and immerse yourself into. Even though it’s over 200 pages you won’t feel it and it will be over before you know it!
This was the 3rd book Amooi wrote and it is like he has been crafting for years!
Until next time xxx
What have other reviewers said?
Goodreads Reviewer says:- I really really enjoyed it. The characters were brilliant, they made me feel for them, they made me laugh and cheered me up when I was feeling down – its a lovely story with a few twists to help it on the way – as you can probably tell I cannot recommend this book enough. I love the authors style of writing and how easy the stories flow. If you haven’t checked out his other books yet, you must add them to your lists!
Goodreads Reviewer says:- A light, easy read that gave me a giggle…Sometimes when I’m choosing a book all I want is something light that will cheer me up and make me smile. This book is just that. It’s cute, it’s funny, the characters are very likeable (despite being so physically attractive) and there is a bit of romance. What more could you want?
Goodreads Reviewer says:- Laughed Out Loud! This is my first book by this author. I was in the mood for something fun, light hearted and flirty and this story was exactly that. I laughed out loud and that doesn’t happen very often for me when reading. Clearly I was amused. It was a fantastic diversion.
