WOW! What a dark and gritty read - I loved it! I bought a copy of this book after seeing a review from fellow blogger and author, Noelle Holten (read her fab review here) and I haven't had a chance to read it…until now! This book is everything I love about this gritty genre! You have love, loss, heartbreak, and corruption! Micky Kelly - what a god-awful human being! The way he lorded it up over everyone was cringe, he was awful to Nicola, such ... Read the Post...
#AudioBookReview of The Mouth of the Dark by Tim Waggoner @timwaggoner @flametreepress #TheMouthOfTheDark #ZooloosBookDiary
Well…not quite sure what I can say about this, but the blurb wasn't lying when it mentioned homicidal sex toys! gulpThere does seem to be such a small line between sex and horror, as most books written in this genre of horror have a lot of sex! #AuduobookReview of The Runaway Bride by Mary Jayne Baker @MaryJayneBaker #TheRunawayBride #ZooloosBookDiary
This audiobook was addictive for sure! Even so, the mini-me caught the last couple of hours and wanted to know what was going to happen! I loved the growth of Kitty in the story. The story was quite dark in places and I wanted to jump in and give Ethan a slap or two. But with all the shocks that happened, I felt there could have been a bit more. There was a huge shock and it was quite literally life-changing but I felt that it wasn’t given ... Read the Post...
#AudioBookReview of The Dollmaker by Morgan Shamy @MorganShamy @CamCat #TheDollMaker #ZooloosBookDiary
I am going to start my review by saying, I picked this up as it was classed as a horror, it sounded like a horror and the cover gave it the same feel, it's not a horror. I guess the grotesque display of the bodies could be deemed horror but we don't really 'see' this creation. This is more a historical thriller than a horror. Now that's out of the way... I did enjoy this book. It gave me the feel of a Kerri Maniscalco book and her duo Audrey ... Read the Post...
