Who knew that an innocent trip to India would have such an impact on his life?
Sunny had only gone as a chaperone for his sister and her best friend, and to attend to a few business matters.
He ended up with a deal that was to change the shape of his professional future and possibly his personal one too.
Because the road to love isn't always straight...
Ritu Bhathal is a fresh, new and much-needed voice for British Asian fiction.Straight is the second book in The Rishtay Series.
Oh Sunny you have stolen my heart. I loved this story so much more than I imagined I was so invested in Sunny and Milan and the tears flowed. Life sucks really.
The conflict, the love, and the pain just flow on these pages. I felt all the emotions and I was with Sunny and Milan every step of their journey. I hoped and prayed everything would be ok for them. Will it?? Well, you will have to read it and find out …now when do I get the next one???
I love Diya, Arjun’s daughter she is a character, and Kiran and Deepi. New characters with Harpeet and Deepi and they were refreshing, I hope we have more from them at some point.
Romeo and Romeo. *Sigh* life really will never be easy as it is, but reading about the strict upbringing in a religious Sikh family makes everything so much harder. One character, despite getting their feelings, not agreeing with them, did upset me with their behaviour. That hurt as I didn’t expect that.
It really is a slice of magic reading this book. I loved Marriage Unarranged as we flew from Birmingham to India, and this time we were back and forth and back and forth and then off to Mumbai. So many sights we saw, smells, and tastes, I feel tired from all the travelling.
I just love this book. I love this series! Ritu’s writing is fresh and it’s refreshing. It’s a story we all know but her spin, using her history, religion, and upbringing makes it all that little bit more special.
It is beautiful, it’s relevant and so poignant and it’s one that will stay with me for so long.
I can’t wait for the next one.
Until the next time xxx
