Well if I am writing this post it means that the blog tour for Paid in Blood has sadly come to an end – Did you finally get to meet Matt?

Let’s recap

It’s 5th July which is the start of the tour – yay!

Lost in the Land of Books shares this review, “Paid in Blood had me hooked from start to finish, and everytime I thought I had figured out who the killer was something happened and I was back at the drawing board. It kept me on my toes that’s for sure and a cracking start to a new series and I’m really keen to see where Handley takes the series too next.”

*Exactly how we want to start the tour*

Jessica Belmont has her review, “Matt Fisher is an excellent character. I like his non-nonsense attitude. I also really thought his blindness made the story even more compelling. It was intriguing to see, because as someone who isn’t blind, I don’t even realize all that I take for granted.”

*I want to meet Matt!*

Herding Cats was kept on her toes, “There are plenty of clues/false trails to follow through the book and it does keep you on your toes a little when guessing who the murdered was. Sometimes I was confident in my guess but then something would come along and make me question myself. I love it when books do that.”

*Ooh this is super!*

Rae Reads was kept guessing, “Paid in Blood moves at a good pace with a few surprises and twists to keep the momentum going. I especially enjoyed being kept on my toes over who was guilty. It’s safe to say I went back and forth over who was responsible for the murder.”

*What a day, everyone was stumped*

6th July, saw us into Tuesday, and more fabulous reviews,

travels.along.my.bookshelf (IG) was hooked, “I have to admit this one totally hooked me in, I found it really gripping and was racing to finish. Mainly because I had no clue who had done it, I can usually have a stab and I had a few thoughts but was totally wrong!”

*Yes! Yes! Yes!*

Mikaela Reads was engaged, “The writing style was really engaging and it was easy to keep track of the plethora of characters. The plot wasn’t too intricate and it was quite believable, too, so it was very easy to get engrossed in the story. I read the book over one weekend as I couldn’t put it down!”

*Oh yay, I love that it was believable*

Stardust Book Reviews had her interest held, “The storyline was strong, fast paced and held my interest throughout. The twists and turns kept me on my toes and I enjoyed working it all out! A great start to a series and I’ll look forward to reading more!”

*Everything you want in a book and a new series*

Suze Reviews…was sold, “Paid in Blood is a well written police procedural with a twist. An engaging damaged and flawed lead character for whom you can’t help rooting, a well written supporting cast and a good storyline.”

*All of this*

It maybe a hump day today but on 7th July we saw these review,

Donna’s Interviews, Reviews and Giveaways (FB) has this to say, “…it is a fast paced who dunnit, with a different cast of characters that you normally might expect, and enough red herrings to keep you guessing to the last page.”

*Who doesn’t love a red herring*

Portable Magic tried to play detective, “Paid In Blood begins as more of a slow burner but as we get deeper into the investigation, the number of potential suspects rises and this makes reading much more tense. I enjoyed trying to unravel the relationships between the characters and work out what had happened.”

*I love being an arm chair detective*

Whispering Stories is looking forward to the next one, “Paid in Blood is a decent start to the new series with well-developed characters that I look forward to meeting again. There were no loose ends left untied as everything was wrapped up nicely.”

*I think there will be a queue for the next one*

Thursday 8th July saw us hit the pre-weekend with these reviews

My Bookish Bliss had this to say, “The pacing is perfect. You get just enough information to keep you wanting to keep reading, yet not so fast that you feel lost.”

*Yeah, everything I want in a book*

Books by Bindu wants more. “I honestly can’t wait to find out more about his story and I am so pleased that this is the start of a new series! There is no hesitation in recommending this one to you guys.”

*Yes! A top book to recommend then*

Bookworm1346 (IG) loved this book, “I absolutely loved this book. It was extremely gripping from the first page.”

*Well I am sold*

Little Miss Book Lover 87 was intrigued, “This is a book that intrigued me from the synopsis. This is a new author for me and it was the cover that instantly attracted my attention. This has been an addictive read. I have been completely captive and unable to return to reality.”

*I love discovering new authors*

Nearly the weekend, 9th July, and we had some fun here

Kath V Books loved the different take on the book “I was particularly engaged by the way DI Fisher used his other senses during the investigation such as noticing certain aromas or hearing hesitation in witnesses voices to help solve the case.”

*Adds an extra element to the book*

Ginger Book Geek thought it was super, “Paid In Blood is superbly written. The author certainly knows how to grab your attention and draw you into what proves to be a compelling story.”

*I am hooked by these reviews*

Lyndas_bookreviews (IG) thught this, “There are plenty of suspects to the killings and lots of red herrings to make you think but in the spirit of honesty I did guess who the murderer was at quite an early stage. However, there is enough going on to make you doubt yourself.”

*Always good to be doubted*

emmabBooks says this, “The first half of this thriller moves at a gentle pace, but by the end I was racing to see what would happen.”

*Oooh yes!*

10th July and its the penultimate day!

Run Away Irish Girl shares her review, “I really enjoyed this story seeing how DI Matt was going to solve this murder and prove to his boss that he is still a good detective even though he is blind.”

*It does add an another layer when a DI has to prove his boss wrong*

Splashes into Books was engaged, “It is an engaging read that kept me turning the pages and I hope it will be the first in a series as I’d like to see how things develop for him, Ginny, Beth and Josh as well as follow any investigation he’s involved with!

*Psst…I hear there is a second in the works*

Pauline Render (FB) thought this was a page-turner, “With many twists and an abundance of possible suspects, I found Paid In Blood a real page turner and I really hope this is going to be the first of many books with this determined cop and his dog.”

*Another call for book 2 and this is a page turner!*

The Magic of Wor(l)ds shares this, “An interesting start of a new series I certainly will be following up on as I like the personae very much and the author has a fluent writing style that keeps you hooked page after page.”

*Sue you need to get writing!*

11th July is he last day! Booooo hiss!

Sharon Beyond the Books loves the twists, “I found it a pretty fast-paced read with unique takes on the characters and a challenging case to be solved along the way. I particularly loved the twists in the investigation, this made the story an interesting one aside from Matt and his health issues.”

*A twisty book is the theme here*

readinginthelight (IG) was gripped, “I loved this book and was gripped from the start. The combination of the
characters uniqueness and excellent plot twists made this a five star read. I do hope there is more of Matt Fisher to come.”

*I love how many people want another book!!!!!*

Nat’s Bookish Corner (FB) is a new fan, “I loved this book and I will be reading more from her in the future. I’ve never read a crime Thriller with a blind detective but the author wrote him brilliantly and it was an original idea. There’s plenty of suspense and mystery added in to keep the reader hooked to the end.”

*And this was agreat way to end the tour*

And that is a wrap! Let’s hope Matt will be back soon…oh and Luna!
