My apologies for the lateness for this wrap-up!
However, let us recap the huge tour for The House On The Water’s Edge with these highlights from these posts!
Kicking off the tour on 11th August
Review by Herding Cats “C E Rose creates a lot of atmosphere through the character of Ali and how turbulent her mind is. As a reader I was never sure if she was reliable or not which I love as a character trait. It always makes me feel as though I’m not quite seeing things as they really are and gives me a sense of paranoia and inability to trust anyone.”
Review by Just Katherine “C.E. Rose has done it again. The House on the Water’s Edge is full of suspense.”
Review by My Bookish Bliss “The House on the Water’s Edge packs a real punch to the psyche. There is one surprise after another in this tantalizing tome by CE Rose. The characters feel like living, breathing people. They will leave you thinking long after you finish.”
Review by Sue Loves to Read “This was an emotional read. I really felt for Ali. What a plot. I didn’t expect that twist.”
Review by StefLoz Book Blog “Perfectly-paced, full of suspense and twists that I wasn’t expecting.”
Review by Rajivs Reviews ““The House on the Water’s Edge” is an impressive thriller that slowly creeps on you.”
Review by ChaosHappinessBookMama “Several good twists and resolutions… I enjoyed these characters, great read!”
Review by pageturnersnook (IG) “This one had me gripped from page one and when a book grabs me like that, I just know the author is of a special kind.”
Review by Rae Reads “The pieces don’t necessarily make sense at first. Then as they are slowly but surely laid out you begin to see the bigger picture. With all of the information and twists combining together to culminate in a surprising conclusion.”
Review by twilight_reader (IG) “I enjoyed the writing style and the plot. I definitely need to read more from this author. Completely blown away. Loved it.“
Review by Nat’s Bookish Corner (FB) “The writing is smooth and it flows from the first page to the last. It’s an emotional, heartwarming and gripping story which will keep you reading from beginning to end.”
Review by Ginger Book Geek “I was drawn into this story from the very first word on the very first page. It was as if the book had developed a hold over me and it was a hold that I wasn’t willing to break. This hold lasted until the moment I read the very last word on the very last page. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.”
Review by Jessica Belmont “The writing is wonderful. There is an air of creepy, loneliness that looms over the house. I really enjoyed the atmospheric writing.”
Review by Bookworm1346 (IG) “The book is a slow burner, picking up pace after building up character relationships and the plot. There are so many twists in this book and it is an original psychological thriller.”
Review by dds_book_reviews (IG) “it is a well structured, slow burning psychological thriller with fully rounded characters.”
Review by shh_reads_ “This book is emotional and heartwarming and will keep you gripped and guessing from the start.”
Review by Donna’s Interviews, Reviews and Giveaways (FB) “One of the things I particularly loved was the relationship between the two sisters. When the chips are down, they are there for each other but the memories and bitterness from childhood remain”
Review by prdg reads “this is the kind of book that draws you in slowly so you don’t realise it’s happening until it’s too late and it already has its teeth in you and you realise you can’t put it down until you know how it ends!”
20th August, it’s a sad day, it’s the final day!!
Review by Sharon Beyond the Books “As the secrets begin to come to the surface and the memories begin to slowly be remembered, the twists and turns of this story start to reveal the shocks as we reach the end of this emotional, twisty and utterly compelling book.”
Review by Lyndas_bookreviews (IG) “This is a slow burner but very very good. I loved this book. Well written with characters I could relate to, be they nice characters or not!”
Wow this was a huge tour! What a lot of fabulous reviews!
So what did we learn about The House of The Water’s Edge
This is a book with an unreliable narrator and if you love slow-burners this is one for you! The book is full of suspense and twists but also it is emotional. It will draw you in slowly and won’t let go until the final pages. But be careful of the red herrings!
Well, this is well and truly a wrap!
Until the next adventure xxx
