I am really excited today as I hand my blog over to Kim who tells us how she spent her Publication Day in 2019!
Over to you Kim….
Oh what a day it was! 10th April 2019 – a day I shall never forget. I wasn’t planning to do anything apart from have a day off work and do a bit on social media but some of my author friends said that I should really mark the occasion because it was a once in a lifetime dream come true to have my first book published and something never to be repeated.
At around 7am, I took a peek at my Facebook and Twitter accounts and wow! There were posts and reviews up already. Rachel from Rachel’s Random Reads had organised me the most fabulous blog tour and I was so lucky that most of the people who were on it, were incredibly supportive.
There was a knock at the door at around 8am and there stood my lovely friend Jo, with a card, a bottle of Prosecco and the most fabulous Amazing Grace cupcakes. That was my first emotional moment of the day. By 9am, #AmazingGrace was trending on Twitter. That was a proud moment and I took a photo to show my son Ollie because he was at school.
Throughout the day I was swamped on social media by all the amazing support from authors, friends, family and publishers. Flowers arrived from my publisher Hera Books, and from my friends and colleagues at Bookouture, more bottles of bubbly and other cards and gifts from many friends including those authors who had inspired me along my journey arrived during the day. I was truly blessed and extremely grateful. At around 3pm, I went to the local printers to collect a canvas that I’d had made of the book. Another little emotional wobble for me before Ollie came home.
Only about a week or so before, I had decided on throwing a little party for some very close friends and family, and a very good friend of mine, Dawn Lewis who owns The Moat House at Acton Trussell, organised an amazing evening in the library at the hotel. No better place to hold a book launch party really, so at around 4.30pm my sister came and picked me up and drove me over there where the sun shone beautifully and we even got to sit outside by the canal and had an absolutely wonderful evening. Such a lucky girl to get even more presents and cakes galore. But the best part was that my friends from so many different parts of my life came together to help me to celebrate. I honestly feel like it was one of the best nights of my life.
The next day I was back at work, and it was just a normal day and I did wonder if I’d dreamt the whole thing!
It really was not a dream Kim!! What a fab post thank you for sharing this and your photos with us! xx
Until next time xxx

And to think, I could have been on that Blog Tour and couldn’t fit it in. Sounds like an amazing day.

I know the feeling, I couldn’t fit it in neither. But I’m glad I waited now
