I Can’t Wait for…The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice and Fire #6) by George R.R. Martin (Can’t-Wait Wednesday/Waiting on Wednesday) #CWW #WOW

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.

So, I think mine might be an obvious choice to be honest! But I CAN NOT WAIT MUCH LONGER FOR…..

The blurb on Goodreads at the moment :

The Winds of Winter is the forthcoming sixth novel in the epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The previous installment, A Dance with Dragons, covered less story than Martin intended, omitting at least one planned large battle sequence and leaving several character threads ending in cliffhangers. Martin intends to resolve these cliffhangers “very early” in The Winds of Winter, saying “I’m going to open with the two big battles that I was building up to, the battle in the ice and the battle at Meereen—the battle of Slaver’s Bay. And then take it from there.”

I read the last book A Dance with Dragons 6 YEARS AGO in December on my honeymoon! I mean seriously, the promises of the release have been too much, I can’t cope! There is still no official date on the new book and even the expected date on Goodreads has disappeared!!! I think it is expected for 2019, I hope so, and then it is goodbye to everyone whilst I read it! I adore the books, so much information to take in, the detail, the world and the plot is just magical.

The TV show is now ahead of the book, with many changes. These said changes have made Mr Martin also decide he is going to change the ending of this series! I hope the book is released soon before I get too many more grey hairs!

I will leave you with this!

Until next time xx

It is a joke isn’t it! I am fed up (Sorry Mr Martin if you read this DO NOT kill a Stark lol) He won’t finish the series on purpose I reckon

      • It is, I think the worst thing is that he stated that it was originally intended to be a trilogy and well, here we now are with years between the books! 🙁 Have you read Rothfuss? He is the same, the first two books are out and it’s been near a decade waiting for the last in the trilogy too! lol

I know and the show is ahead of the books! I mean I know the show producers know how it will end, so they could potentially finish them, but now GRRM has decided he is changing his books slightly to fit in with the show urgh! No I was going to check them out at some point. But after that I might wait! lol

          • No way!!!
I’m really into Lost Lives but I can’t settle down when the kids are off. I miss being able to spend whole days reading.
I’m trying audio books so I can get through more books and we can still have ironed clothes ???

I know me too! I manage to get some reading in when the little one is busy playing babies lol.
I love audiobooks I use to have a 2 hour commute to work so they were perfect! I only have a 20 mins one now but still listen lol xx

That’s not a bad idea! I might start to do that if I think I might not get to it in time or to get ahead if it’s out lol

                  • I’m booked solid so even if I just do one or two a month it’s extra reviews or an extra tour done whilst doing housework.
If you own a book on Kindle you can upgrade to audible for 2.99 so I thought I could work through my pre reviewing back catalogue.
And, classics are free so I can expand my choices.
I’m doing a blog post on this when I get the chance
