I am starting off this post to say what the duggery (yes duggery) happened with the voting! When I looked the results, I think my jaw just dropped. I was shocked….I mean are you ready for this? I don’t think you are to be ready…or maybe just maybe you know what the result will be. I mean I knew what it would be but just not such a clean sweep in the result.
I mean what!!!! Woah there!! i knew that it would probably be a case of they go but not by this gap! Well they have gone! Off the list!
Ok, will anything be safe this week?
The One You Really Want by Jill Mansell
Goodreads
It all starts with a shiny, red, sit-on lawn-mower.
When Nancy spies her Christmas present from her husband sitting on the lawn, she realises the jewellery she thought was for her must be on someone else.
Her best friend Carmen isn't surprised (she never liked Jonathan) and persuades Nancy to leave Edinburgh and come and stay in her luxury London flat - far too vast for Carmen since her husband, millionaire rock star Spike Todd, died.
Soon Nancy's met gorgeous Connor O'Shea, who lives next door, and his daughter Mia is matchmaking - not least because she'd like to see the back of Connor's current pushy girlfriend.
Meanwhile Carmen, who's always been certain she doesn't want another man in her life, feels a spark when a handsome charity worker called Joe calls round.
But Joe's not quite all he seems...
The one you really want could be closer than you think... A sweet, funny, romantic novel from bestselling author Jill Mansell.
Broken Symmetry by Dan Rix
Goodreads
Sixteen-year-old Blaire Adams can walk through mirrors.
It’s called breaking symmetry. To her, a mirror feels like a film of honey. She can reach through it, grab things…even step inside.
On the other side she lives every teenager’s fantasy: a universe all her own, zero consequences. She can kiss the hot guy, break into La Jolla mansions, steal things…even kill. When finished, she just steps back into reality and smashes the mirror—and in an instant erases every stupid thing she did. Gone. It never happened.
But breaking symmetry is also dangerous. First there’s the drug-like rush she gets when passing through the glass, like a shot of adrenaline. She suspects it’s degrading her body, making a new copy of her each time. A reflection of a reflection, each one a little hazier. Then, of course, there’s the risk of getting cut off from reality.
When she narrowly escapes a military quarantine zone with the San Diego Police Department hot on her heels only to discover her escape mirror littering the floor in shards, her worst fear is realized. Now, trapped in a broken reflection, she must flee through a mind-bending maze of mirrors, going deeper into the nightmare as she struggles to grasp a betrayal, uncover the chilling truth about her ability, and somehow find a way out of a dead-end universe that “never happened.”
Somehow, she must find a way home.
Wolves (I Bring the Fire, #1) by C. Gockel
Goodreads
In the middle of America, on Route 44, Amy Lewis has a plan — to get to her grandma’s house in time for dinner.
Galaxies away Loki is waking up in a prison cell, strangely without a hangover, and with no idea what he’s done wrong — this time anyway. But he does know Thor is hiding something, Odin is up to something wicked, and there seems to be something he’s forgotten...
In this tale that is equal parts “Another Fine Myth,” “American Gods,” and “Once Upon a Time,” a very nice midwestern girl and a jaded, still very mischievous Loki must join forces to outwit gods, elves, magic sniffing cats, and nosy neighbors.
If Loki can remember exactly what he’s forgotten and Amy can convince him not to be too distracted by Earthly gadgets, her boobs, or three day benders, they just might pull it off...
This first volume of "I Bring the Fire" is for anyone who suspects chaos and mischief makers might have their own redeeming qualities, and anyone who just wants a good fantasy romp through modern Earth, ancient Asgard, and beyond!
Build A Man (Serenity Holland, #1) by Talli Roland
Goodreads
Slave to the rich and the rude, cosmetic surgery receptionist Serenity Holland longs for the day she's a high-flying tabloid reporter.
When she meets Jeremy Ritchie -- the hang-dog man determined to be Britain's Most Eligible Bachelor by making himself over from head to toe and everything in between -- Serenity knows she's got a story no editor could resist.
With London's biggest tabloid on board and her very own column tracking Jeremy's progress from dud to dude, Serenity is determined to be a success.
But when Jeremy's surgery goes drastically wrong and she's ordered to cover all the car-crash goriness, Serenity must decide how far she really will go for her dream job.
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
Goodreads
Mr Utterson cannot believe that his kind and loyal companion Dr Jekyll and the cruel and villainous Mr Hyde are friends.
He is determined to discover more about their unusual relationship.
However, the deeper he digs the more perplexed he is by the facts and events that unfold.
Will Utterson ever uncover the truth?
Panic (Wildfire Chronicles #1) Goodreads
Michael Evans is only in rural St. Davids to maintain a low profile after his time spent as a city cop ended in disaster. The town is perfect for him: isolated. A tiny population. Virtually no crime.
Until the night the strange canisters fall from the sky and the town priest starts killing people with his teeth. To Michael, the bloodbath looks like a murder case that the quiet town's two police officers can't possibly handle.
But this isn't just a crime scene.
And the priest is just the beginning...
