So results are in from last week, what am I keeping
So I have kept to my word the other 3 have been kicked to the curb, it was hard to get rid of one but the public has spoken!!
So in preparing this post, I actually cut out a lot of books from my list! Anything I thought I am never going to read..were cut! I started with 2016 books on my list when writing this post and when I finished this post I had reduced it to 1992..so I thought it was a lot more! But the list is going down!
This week we look at some series I have started but not had the chance to finish (one to start) so we need to decide whether or not to finish the series.
Changeling by Philippa Gregory (Order of Darkness #1)
Blurb
Italy, 1453. Seventeen-year-old Luca Vero is brilliant, gorgeous—and accused of heresy. Cast out of his religious order for using the new science to question old superstitious beliefs, Luca is recruited into a secret sect: The Order of the Dragon, commissioned by Pope Nicholas V to investigate evil and danger in its many forms, and strange occurrences across Europe, in this year—the end of days.
Isolde is a seventeen-year-old girl shut up in a nunnery so she can’t inherit any of her father’s estate. As the nuns walk in their sleep and see strange visions, Isolde is accused of witchcraft—and Luca is sent to investigate her, but finds himself plotting her escape.
Despite their vows, despite themselves, love grows between Luca and Isolde as they travel across Europe with their faithful companions, Freize and Ishraq. The four young people encounter werewolves, alchemists, witches, and death-dancers as they head toward a real-life historical figure who holds the boundaries of Christendom and the secrets of the Order of the Dragon
I am excited to read her series about the Tudors and this book does sound awesome! I do love the supernatural stuff
So over to you…what is your verdict?
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel (Thomas Cromwell Trilogy #1)
Blurb
England in the 1520s is a heartbeat from disaster. If the king dies without a male heir, the country could be destroyed by civil war. Henry VIII wants to annul his marriage of twenty years and marry Anne Boleyn. The pope and most of Europe opposes him. Into this impasse steps Thomas Cromwell: a wholly original man, a charmer and a bully, both idealist and opportunist, astute in reading people, and implacable in his ambition. But Henry is volatile: one day tender, one day murderous. Cromwell helps him break the opposition, but what will be the price of his triumph?
So it is a book about the Tudors, I own this book, I think I should keep this one. I mean it’s the Tudors!!! Plus I do own the hard/paperbacks of this series.

Want to Play? by P.J Tracy (Monkeewrench #1)
Blurb
In this electrifying debut, the slaying of an old couple in small town America looks like one-off act of brutal retribution. But at the same time, in Minneapolis, teams of detectives scramble to stop a sickeningly inventive serial killer striking again in a city paralysed by fear.
When the two separate investigations converge on an isolated
So I have started this series years ago and I really did LOVE it but I cannot remember what book I was on, and so I would need to read it from the beginning. Do I still need this one in my life?
So over to you…what is your verdict?
Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben (Myron Bolitar #1)
Blurb
Sports agent Myron Bolitar is poised on the edge of the big time. So is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron’s prized client. But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend, a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead, the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family’s tragedy, a woman’s secret, and a man’s lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.
In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction Myron Bolitar a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each page-turning appearance.
Another series I have started to read and again I cannot remember where I got up to in the series! It was another one I really did love! Is it enough to keep it?
So over to you…what is your verdict?
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (Shopaholic #1)

Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London’s trendiest

Broken record I have read most of this series and I can’t remember where I got to. I did enjoy it but I am not sure I am overly bothered about re-reading it. ( Really selling it aren’t I)

Déjá Dead by Kathy Reichs (Temperance Brennan #1)
Blurb
The meticulously dismembered body of a woman is discovered in the grounds of an abandoned monastery.
‘Too decomposed for standard autopsy. Request anthropologic expertise.’
Enter Dr Temperance Brennan, Director of Forensic Anthropology for the province of Quebec, who has been researching recent disappearances in the city.
Despite the cynicism of Detective Claudel who heads the investigation, Brennan is convinced that a serial killer is at work. Her forensic expertise finally convinces Claudel, but only after the body count has risen…

So you know what I am about to say don’t you lol. I have started this series too! I actually remember reading this one at university (a

So a different look this week with the genre of books, but I am excited like normal, to hear what you might choose! Results will be shown next time! If only I knew how to do a poll on
Until next time xxx
Kelly says
I’d keep Changeling and Want to Play. I’ve read neither but I can’t say no to paranormal stuff and serial killers ? I’ve read the whole Shopaholic series but TBH I couldn’t be bothered to read it again and IMO the stories get less entertaining along the way too. Happy Saturday!
Zoé says
Yeah i think dropping Shopaholics is a good decision! I am not that fussed now, I do enjoy her books! Good choice, Want to play a game was amazing so I do want to get re-reading the series x
Kelly says
An unfortunate side effect of your Should I Stay or Should I Go is that books keep jumping from your GR to mine ?
Zoé says
ha ha no way! what did you add?? lol
Kelly says
Going to add Want to Play, maybe Changeling and thinking about the sniper too and I don’t even read non-fiction ??
Zoé says
?? this is brilliant lol am a little bit sorry x
Kelly says
No you’re not ?
Zoé says
A little bit, a smidge?
noveldeelights says
I’d keep Wolf Hall, without a doubt. And obviously I’d also keep Harlan Coben. Not sure about Kathy Reichs. I read all of them up until
noveldeelights says
Oops, premature publication syndrome ?. I read all of Kathy Reich’s books up until three years or so ago. They were still good but also getting somewhat repetitive.
Zoé says
Yeah i agree with KR books, but I still loved Tempe. They all start to get a bit like that though. Good choices! 🙂
Short Book and Scribes says
I’m like you, I started the PJ Tracy series years ago but only read two or three. I’d ditch it as you’ll never catch up with the series now.
And I would definitely get rid of Wolf Hall – yawn!
Zoé says
Oh no way! Was it that bad, I LOVE the Tudors eek!! You are so ruthless I love it! lol xx
Short Book and Scribes says
I like the Tudors too and enjoyed several of Philippa Gregory’s Tudor books, but I’m afraid I just didn’t like Wolf Hall.
Zoé says
Yeah i have heard so many good things about the Philippa Gregory and I have them all i just need to get started!
noveldeelights says
Oh, really? I bought Wolf Hall and the sequel because of the tv series, which I really enjoyed.
Short Book and Scribes says
Just my personal opinion, of course.
Zoé says
I still need to watch the show!
nickimags @ The Secret Library Book Blog says
Get rid of Wolf Hall and probably Shopaholic even though she has new one coming out sometime.
Zoé says
A lot of people asy get rid of Shopaholic ones! So I think that is a gonner lol
Hayley at RatherTooFondofBooks says
I loved the early books in the Shopaholic series but found the later ones hit and miss so it’s maybe worth continuing for a little while if you really loved the first one but otherwise I wouldn’t bother. I’m the same as you with PJ Tracy – I loved the first couple or so and then lost track of the series and now feel like I’d have to start again to be able to figure it out. I’m thinking maybe ditch this one.
Zoé says
I am loving it this week! Think Shopaholic is a goner. Yeah thats what I am going to have to do is start from the beginning again with that one x
calturner says
I’d get rid of Wolf Hall as it didn’t do anything for me. I really wanted to like it, but sadly no.
Zoé says
Oh really how come? A few people have said get rid of it now! x
calturner says
It was probably just me, but I couldn’t get into it at all. x
bertyboy123 says
Dump Wolf Hall and Shopaholic series
Zoé says
haha this is brilliant! So many have said that! lol thank you 🙂
Davida Chazan says
My husband adores Coben, so keep that one. The other one… maybe the Wolf Hall. I’ve seen the mini-series and it was great so the book should be better!
Zoé says
Ah thanks Davida! I do love Coben books and most of his stories are now tv shows
