Well, we are back!!!!!!!!
Finally had a chance to sort out where I was at with my Goodreads shelf! I had a slight tad OCD and wanted to make sure I had every single book I wanted to be tagged on there – do not ask! I loved this feature when I did it earlier in the year and the debates it all caused and plus it did help get rid of a lot of dud books! I have even included a fancy poll for you to be able to vote for 3 books you think I should keep and I will update you next week with the results and the new books to stay or go! Can not wait to hear what you all think!! (The poll is at the bottom of this post!)
Well, what books do we have here this week!
Dear John by Nicholas SparksGoodreads
An angry rebel, John dropped out of school and enlisted in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life--until he meets the girl of his dreams, Savannah. Their mutual attraction quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and John wanting to settle down with the woman who has captured his heart.
But 9/11 changes everything. John feels it is his duty to re-enlist. And sadly, the long separation finds Savannah falling in love with someone else.
Dear John, the letter read... and with those two words, a heart was broken and two lives were changed forever. Returning home, John must come to grips with the fact that Savannah, now married, is still his true love—and face the hardest decision of his life.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Goodreads
standing on the fringes of life...
offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see
what it looks like from the dance floor. This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being A WALLFLOWER
This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that the perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.
Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.

Prince of Shadows by Rachel Caine
Goodreads
In the Houses of Montague and Capulet, there is only one goal: power. The boys are born to fight and die for honor and—if they survive—marry for influence and money, not love. The girls are assets, to be spent wisely. Their wishes are of no import. Their fates are written on the day they are born.
Benvolio Montague, cousin to Romeo, knows all this. He expects to die for his cousin, for his house, but a spark of rebellion still lives inside him. At night, he is the Prince of Shadows, the greatest thief in Verona—and he risks all as he steals from House Capulet. In doing so, he sets eyes on convent-bound Rosaline, and a terrible curse begins that will claim the lives of many in Verona…
… And will rewrite all their fates, forever.
Under the Dome by Stephen King
Goodreads
Also by this author: UR, In the Tall Grass
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.
Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a selectwoman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.source: stephenking.com

I thought The Perks of Being a Wallflower was a great YA book and I liked What Alice Forgot. I watched The Help and liked it. The Dome is such a huge book and I thought the tv series was ok. I’m a person who likes books better than their adaptions so I’d just skip The Dome, he’s written better.
Zoé says
Thanks Sandy! Ooh I like it when new books are thrown in to the mix – did you try the voting? Not to worry if you didn’t I will add your votes in 🙂 x
