The writing is rich in atmosphere, the mentions of music throughout evoke a great sense of the period and quite often had me singing along in my head as I read. Tension mounts swiftly as the pace quickens, the situations that Rina becomes involved in make for utterly thrilling reading.

WOW! This hit the ground running and didn’t stop until the very end. Non stop action all the way. I was exhausted by the time I had turned the last page.
This sounds utterly enticing!!
✮ Excerpt ✮
I’m sitting at a corner table in a pub in Wardour Street waiting for Bert Davis. It’s Friday night and the place is heaving. I look at my watch, see it’s near closing time and I’m wondering if he’s going to turn up. He wants to talk about a bit of work his governor George Preston has got for me. I’ve been able to stay well out of the game since I scored the money my dad left behind from a blag he pulled off before he got shot, but George, who ran a big firm with my dad, has got so much on me he could have me away for life anytime he wants. Even though I doubt if he’d break the code, I can’t risk turning him down. The landlord shouts time and I’m about to finish my drink and
‘You think you’re so fucking clever, you slimy little bitch.’
I put my hand in my jacket pocket and slip my fingers into the knuckle duster.
‘I know you offed Charlie and I’ll have you screaming in pain with a blade up your drawers before I do you the same way you did him.’
A bloke at the next table looks our way and when Fenton turns to him, I whip out the duster and give him a straight right to his temple. As he falls backwards and hits the floor, I knock the table out of the way and stamp on his bollocks. When he shouts and rears up, I kick him under the jaw, make a run for the door and leg it up Wardour Street wondering how Fenton got to know about me doing Charlie Hobson months ago. After weaving in and out of the evening crowd, I duck into a doorway and look back towards the pub. I can’t see anyone after me, so I hail a cab and get in. I reckon I won’t go home in case any of Fenton’s firm
As we drive round Soho Square I’m looking forward to seeing Lizzie. An ambulance roars past and it reminds me of the night I found her and took her to hospital after she’d been beaten up by a mad punter who was into some weird stuff. When she came out I managed to persuade her to give up whoring and
George Preston’s handling the protection and we’ve got some good muscle on the door so even though we get a few bad lads coming in for a drink or a meet, there’s been no real trouble so far.
The cab pulls up outside the club. I get out, give the driver a ten bob note and tell him to keep the change. Max and a bloke I don’t know are on the door.
‘Evening, Rina,’ says Max, as I approach.
