A house with a history. A boy with a grudge. And a detective who will stop at nothing to get to the truth.
Gregory knows something is wrong with his house. His parents don’t believe him, but he can feel it – and he’s frightened.
DC Rose Gifford is called out after neighbours report a series of disturbances at the property, and she can feel it too. She knows Gregory and his family are in danger, and she knows that it will be down to her specialist supernatural crimes team to uncover the truth.
Something terrible happened at number 42 Wyndham Terrace. And it’s Rose’s job to find out what.
I was really excited to get a copy of the Whisper House. This is book two in the DC Rose Gifford series and I love the first one with how basically there was the element of supernatural introduced to a normal everyday crime. This one was no different this one had a spooky house. A little boy can hear whispers, and these whispers are not nice! They say horrible things.
Rose and her new team, because she’s now in her new team. Go to the address to try and help and find out what’s going on. What is uncovered is something I never expected.
I must admit my attention did wane a little bit this time, when the last part I was so hooked and riveted on the story. I did kind of lose track, listening to the audiobook in different bits. The plot itself was fascinating with how it makes you decide whether or not it really is a ghost.
Rose is still being haunted by Adele and things are ramping up there. It appears we have three different storylines that are linked in a way that I didn’t expect and it’s quite sad when you see when you hear how the first oldest storyline plays out.
I’m definitely invested in this series and after the ending, we have with this book. I need to know what’s going to happen next and I need it now. I’m really enjoying the series.
I may not like this book as much as the first book, but I still liked this book. It was still something I want to read. I’m just in love with the fact that it’s something different. It’s not just a crime. It’s something that will delve into the supernatural and it will make you question what is happening. Is it real? I love things like that. I love that this book pushes you out there. And yes, I really can’t wait for the next book.
Until the next time xxx
