She needs a win – and fast. Then heiress Audrina Dixon is brutally killed with only her fourteen-year-old twin sons as witnesses. But the boys, traumatized by what they have seen, seem to have developed a rare form of mutism.Or perhaps there’s another reason they won’t speak? Because soon there is mounting evidence that the boys themselves may be the killers. As Marcy deepens her investigation, she begins to realise that Audrina’s murder is just one part of a much bigger picture. Behind it, lies a horrifying web of mind control, depravity and revenge….A web spun by a powerful enemy who is willing to do whatever it takes to stop her – permanently.Blood Line – book 2 in the thrilling series featuring Detective Marcy Kendrick
I am in love with this series, Marcy is a badass.
However, this book is terrifying! You can guess early on what happened and how it happened. But it was hard to comprehend it. It was also hard for Marcy to prove especially when she had a stalker trying to scare her off the entire case.
It was great to see Angel back on his feet and working with Marcy this time. Helping her through the finality of the previous book and the guilt she feels.
Jordan, the ex, what a douche. I can’t believe he got away with treating Marcy the way he did and the things he said!! You have to love the Captain coming in when he did. Sucker!
Stephen, Marcy’s brother has had a relapse but he’s finally getting the help he needs after his revelations from the previous book.
Everything is spot on with this, the way the case gets tied up in tape with the powers that be stopping Marcy from going where she needs to go. It all felt authentic as the duo had to find other lines of investigation whilst dealing with pressure to get the case wrapped up. It was intense and at times nail biting.
Despite Marcy being at times a bit trigger-happy, I would feel safer knowing she was on the streets keeping me safe. She is relentless and will not stop until the culprit is behind bars. She gets the results. She really is a badass.
Until the next time xxx
