Ever since I discover “Save Yourself Happy” I try (and fail more often than not) to work around and save. I have kept up some of the stuff I have learnt, but it still doesn’t mean I don’t have my head in the sand about my finances. I know that I am not alone! So, when I saw this book come up, I knew I had to check it out.
I haven’t been writing it down in the book as I feel like it’s wrong too, but I do have my handy spreadsheet of the incomings/outgoings! I dread looking at it, but this book does help you with some handy affirmations and tricks. One I love to do is the rounding up which I learnt from Gemma’s previous book. It doesn’t seem a lot but you do notice the money going up and it is a nice positive thought process.
The monthly checklists are great, and they get you thinking! It has made me try to plan the month. I know I have a problem, I am way too generous and this is a big problem. Bad day why not buy that book, and have that takeaway! Because life is too short, however, you also need to be able to afford these things! These are the thought processes I am trying to work around with both of the books and I have definitely had a lot of No Spend Days – and it’s great! It seems silly but so many of these tricks are things we know but just never think of, and seeing it in black and white is a great reminder of what you can do.
With this book, it’s great as you can pick it up any time and start your 12 months as the months aren’t labelled. It is the perfect companion when you are in need of a Financial MOT, both the books are always close by so I can dip in and out of!
Until the next time xxx
