The Favorite Child - the gripping psychological thriller from the best-selling author of The Other Couple and The Guest
Oh my days where do I start!? What a frigging book!
From the start, it was cold, dark, chilling and damn right terrifying. This family is a new kind of crazy and Annie, well Annie you are never quite sure if she is the crazy one or not. I loved every delicious word on those pages! I feel like I have been thrown through the wringer. I am mess with this shocking delivery of a book! It was fantastic!
It was so damn cold, and the attitude and behaviour of the family were just plain odd and very cultish, despite not being a cult. They followed the principles set out by the father as if everything was gospel and they lived by them. Apart from a few chapters, we live every minute of the holiday this family is on.
The past, well that opened our eyes up to each sibling and their feelings towards Sunday, the favourite. What a disaster of a family. The hate pulsated out of the pages, the jealousy and the evil. I feel I need a shower.
This is most definitely one of my favourite books this year. It was a fascinating tale of a family unravelling over secrets, it’s always secrets. However, I was not expecting this and I was not expecting that ending and outcome. Justice has been served, how? You need to read it.
I have become a huge fan of Cathryn’s over the last year and if she keeps writing dark and twisty books like this to keep me going I am going to be a happy reader.
Just wow! What a book!
Until next time xxx
